I have many years experience working with young people from 4 to 18 years of age, and even adults. I prefer to tutor on a one-to-one basis as I like to build up a rapport with my students. That way they can confidently face their learning difficulties in a supportive and positive environment.
I have worked in the healthcare profession and in scientific research so I can relate my teaching to the requirements of the workplace and industry.
I am available from 9am to 7pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 12noon on Fridays.
I offer Maths and Science tuition from Y1 to Y11, English from Y1 to Y8 and Biology to Y12 and beyond. I can also support adults and undergraduates with Maths and English skills, presentations and report writing following a discussion of needs.
Lessons are offered from my home in Bungendore, in a quiet study, on an hourly basis. I offer a free 20 minute no obligation, informal discussion, if requested.
Experience
I have 14 years experience as a classroom teacher, including teaching children with specific learning difficulties eg. dyslexia, dyspraxia, Aspergers, mild autism and also hearing and sight impairment.
I have tutored for 8 years, 5 of those involved running my own tutoring business in the UK.
I have worked in a caring capacity with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Qualifications
Higher National Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences
Bachelor of Science with Honours in Environmental Science and Information Technology
Post Graduate Certificate in Education
I am a fully registered teacher with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute
